Cypress Drilling, LLC is an independent oil & gas company based out of Azle, Texas. Cypress' goal is to provide investors with the opportunity to participate in a diverse portfolio of drilling prospects in order to allow them an excellent return on their money. Cypress and its consultants have over 270 combined years in the oil and gas industry and have job experience and training from companies such as Texaco, Chevron, Conoco, and Amoco, to name a few. Through the company's synergist relationship with its consultants, each of whom had a specific area of technical expertise and knowledge. Cypress is able to spread its operations across the country, providing further diversity to the investor.
Michael Morris is the President of Cypress Drilling, LLC and he has over 28 years experience in the oil business. He graduated with honors from the University of Texas at Austin in 1975 with a Bachelor of Science degree in Geology. As part of a field mapping team, he worked in the Talkeetna Mountains of Alaska for the U.S. Geological Survey in 1974 and 1975. He is listed as one of the authors on the official U.S.G.S. open file report for the area. Subsequently, he worked as a field engineer on the Trans-Alaska pipeline. After doing post-graduate work, he began his career in the oil business in 1977 at Texas Oil and Gas as an exploration geologist in South Texas. His work there help lead to numerous gas discoveries totaling approximately 40 BCF of gas. Subsequently he has drilled approximately 70 wells in South Texas and Louisiana, completing approximately half of those as producers. He has been instrumental in organizing the shooting of 3D seismic data in South Texas and Louisiana with several publicly traded companies. On his most recent 3D shoot in south Louisiana, his working interest partners included two companies trading on the New York Stock Exchange, one with a market cap in excess of twelve billion dollars.
Archie Martin is the project leader for Cypress Drilling’s drilling programme in South Louisiana, having extensive scientific knowledge in the project area. He is a senior geologist/geophysict with over 30 years experience in the oil business. He holds a Masters Degree in Geology from Eastern Kentucky University and a Bachelors Degree in Geology from the Louisiana State University at New Orleans. He has worked for Amoco, Sun Oil, Bass Enterprises Production and Antiquity Oil. With Sun Oil he worked several fields, increasing company reserves by approximately 30 BCF of gas in the South Louisiana fields of Belle Isle, Fausse Point and Chacahoula. He was part of the Research and Development Team for new technology, advancing shear wave seismic research and the amplitude response created under various subsurface conditions. While at Bass Production, he expanded the Smackover - Cotton Valley trend into new field discoveries in Union and Claiborne Parishes, Louisiana, finding approximately 25 BCF of gas. In addition, his work led to the additional development of about 20 BCF of gas in the old South Louisiana fields discovering new fault block accumulations.
Charles M. Berry is a petroleum engineer whose professional career covers in excess of forty years of service within the oil and gas industry. He has worked for a major company as well as small and large independent companies in virtually every phase of the business, from field hand to executive level. With this multi-faceted background, he has expertise in technical, financial, and management areas. Upon his graduation from the University of Houston with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Mechanical Engineering he joined Conoco in their West Texas District. He worked for Conoco from 1961 to 1969. His duties included all aspects of drilling, completion, workovers, secondary recovery, equipment design, and production operations. He joined McRae Consolidated Oil & Gas, Inc. in 1969 as a Production Engineer, rising to membership of the Board of Directors of McRae in 1974. In September 1983, when McRae was bought by Lear Petroleum Corporation, Mr. Berry became Division Manager of Operations for its Gulf Coast Division, being responsible for all drilling, completion, workover, and production related operations. He joined DI Energy, Inc., the exploration and production subsidiary company of DI Industries, Inc. in March 1986 as Vice-President of Operations and Chief Operation Officer. In this capacity he was responsible for all drilling, completion, workover, and production related operations as well as coordinating and supervising all property acquisitions. He resigned his position at DI in 1996 to enter private business as a consulting petroleum engineer. Since then he has been active in drilling, completion, workover, hookup, and stimulation operations. Additionally he has performed due diligence on acquisition packages, prepared reserve report, and property evaluations.
Thomas Jay Low, a petroleum engineer has been working in the field for over forty years. Mr. Low spent seven years with Texaco working in several capacities including District Drilling Engineer for Southwest Louisiana and Division Drilling Engineer for Florida, Mississippi, and Louisiana. In 1972, he started Low Consulting Company and has been an independent consultant for drilling, reservoir, and completion work on wells ranging from 800 to 25,000 feet. He authored the published work “Drilling Through Salt Overhangs in South Louisiana” which appeared in Petroleum Engineer and World Oil publications and is an active member in the Society of Petroleum Engineers.
Mark T. Kramer, experienced geophysicist, heads up Cypress Drilling’s exploration team for Jackson County, Texas. He has 28 years of major oil company and consulting experience. He earned his Bachelor of Science degree in physics at John Carrol University in 1972 and his Master of Science degree in geophysics from St. Louis University in 1976. Most of his major company experience was with Chevron USA. He has been responsible for field acquisition of seismic data, data processing, exploration and development geophysics. He is the co-owner of Interactive Earth Sciences Corporation, a company specializing in state-of-the-art seismic imaging techniques.
Peter H. Northrop, a geophysical/computer specialist with 24 years of experience provides advanced computer systems and technical application support for diverse oil industry environments. He earned his Bachelor of Science degree in geology at the University of New Hampshire in 1977 and his Master of Science degree in computer information systems from the University of Denver in 1988. He is the co-owner of Interactive Earth Sciences Corporation, a company specializing in state-of-the-art seismic imaging techniques.
Eldred M. Himsworth, a research and worldwide exploration geophysicist, provides technical and management experience to exploration projects. He has 27 years of experience with Gulf Oil and other major companies. He earned his Master of Science degree in geophysics at Imperial College, London University and his PHD in geophysics from the University of Durham.
Kirk Guillebeau is Vice President of Finance and Project Development for Cypress Drilling, LLC and is also in charge of investor relations. He studied finance at the University of Texas at Tyler before starting his career at Morgan Stanley Dean Witter. He then joined the oil and gas industry, working for two independent oil and gas companies in Tyler, Texas. He began work with Cypress in 2005 and is also currently enrolled in the University of Dallas M.B.A. program.
James D. Cornay is a land consultant for Cypress Drilling. After graduating from the University of South-western Louisiana in 1977 with a B.S. in Business Administration – Economics, he began his career in land work in 1978, and obtained his certification as a Certified Professional Landman (CPL) in 1985. He served as Second Vice-President of the Lafayette Association of Petroleum Landmen in 1989-90 and is currently an active member in the association. He is also an active member in the American Association of Professional Landmen and Houston Association of Petroleum Landmen.
Dennis B. Lowry is a land consultant for Cypress Drilling, LLC. Dennis graduated from the University of Southwestern Louisiana in 1985 with a B.S. in Business Administration – Petroleum Land Management. He began his career in land work and became a CPL in November 1992. He is an active member in the Lafayette Association of Landman, the Houston Association of Petroleum Landmen and the American Association of Professional Landman.
